What classes does Mes Amies Dance Company offer?

We offer a wide range of adult dance and movement classes at our Northampton studio. Choose from ballet, pointe, Silver Swans (for over-55s), Pose Barre, tap, contemporary, musical theatre, heels, and yoga. All classes are welcoming, social, and designed for every ability level – from complete beginners to experienced dancers.

Do I need any experience to join?

Not at all. Many of our members started as complete beginners, and we run classes specifically for those who are new to dance. You don’t need any experience – just come along, have fun, and enjoy learning something new.

I'm not very fit and haven't exercised for awhile

Don’t worry! Our classes are suitable for all levels and can be adapted to your fitness level. Don’t be put off if you’re not feeling very fit at the moment – you’ll soon notice a difference.

What is the age range for members at Mes Amies Dance Company?

Our classes are open to all adults, welcoming everyone from late teens to those in their 70s and beyond.

What should I wear to class?

You can wear whatever you feel comfortable in – there’s no set uniform. Most people opt for leggings and a loose-fitting top, but anything that allows you to move freely is perfect. Just make sure you have appropriate footwear for your class, such as ballet shoes, tap shoes, or trainers.

Do I need tap or ballet shoes for these classes?

If you’re joining a beginner class, you’re welcome to try it first without ballet or tap shoes. Once you decide to continue, we’ll be happy to advise you on the best footwear to buy.

How do I book classes?

We ask that you book and pay for your class through our website. Visit our Book Now page and scroll to the date you’d like to attend. Click View All Sessions Today to see every class available, then select your chosen class and follow the steps to checkout.

Do I have to book a term or block of classes, or can I pay weekly?

All our classes are pay-as-you-go, so you can join whenever it suits you. We understand that adults have busy schedules, so there’s no need to commit to a full term. If you attend regularly, we also offer class bundles and weekly passes at discounted rates.

Is there parking at your studio?

Yes – there’s a large, free car park at the studio.
